Amador Valley Athletic Boosters would like to help with your future endeavors by providing scholarships to qualified candidates.
Please complete the application, ensuring you include all the necessary details and information for us to assess your application.
Closing date is Monday, March 31st 2025
If you are successful you will be invited to attend the Student Recognition event on May 19th 2025 where you will be presented with your scholarship.
We are looking for :
Sportsmanship
Athletic and Academic Achievement
Parental Involvement and Support for Sports at AVHS
Community Spirit especially within the Sporting Community
At least 1 year of a Varsity Sport
3 years of Amador Valley Athletic Boosters Membership.
We may also contact your coaches for Character References.
The following scholarships will be awarded in addition to other grants:
The Selway Scholarship was established by the AV Athletic Boosters in appreciation of Bill Selway’s time and dedication to the AVHS Athletic Boosters. This award is given to the student who has excelled athletically and academically, has set a positive example for others to follow, and whose parents have been very active in AVHS Athletic Boosters programs ($3000).
The Mattos Memorial Scholarship honors the memory of Steve Mattos who served the AV Athletic Boosters and Amador for many years. Steve’s great sense of humor was matched by his dedication to family and community. This award is given to the student that has a volunteer spirit and can do attitude that serves as a model for future Amador students and parents ($3000).
The Mano Family Scholarship was established in 2002 by the AV Athletic Boosters to recognize the two decades of service to the club by Ken and Carolyn Mano. As the club treasurer, Ken was instrumental in bringing the successful eScrip program to Amador. Ken still serves the club today as the Chairperson for Amador’s partnership with Special Olympics. This award is given to the student athlete who has a never give up attitude and whose parents have provided on- going support to the AVHS Athletic Boosters ($3000).
The Jared Johansen Memorial Scholarship was established in 2012 to honor the memory of Jared Johansen, an Amador graduate who passed away suddenly in November, 2011 at the age of 27. Jared’s parents, Alan and Christy, have been active members of the Pleasanton community and were always very visible at Amador athletic and booster events. Jared as well as his brothers Nick and Nate were all respected athletes at Amador. This award is being given to an outstanding Amador student-athlete who has earned the respect of teammates and teachers while demonstrating exemplary scholastic achievement, sportsmanship, character, and determination in the classroom and on the playing field ($3000).
