Pigskin

In 1984 the Amador Booster Organization and the PTA held a get together BBQ and chose to title it the Pigskin Roast.

In the following years the event grew beyond sports and included clubs and various friends of the AVHS community. In 2017 the festival added games and other groups to provide the carnival feel you experience today. Taking place once a year before a home Football Game, Pigskin enables all the athletic programs and school communities to help create the carnival with their own fun fundraising booths and games. Money raised at each teams booth goes directly to support that team.

The purpose of The Amador Pigskin Festival is to celebrate school spirit, involve the local community and to help celebrate the launch of a new school year. It is an opportunity to raise funds and educate the community about your organization.

3. Rules for Selling Food

All food must be commercially packaged unless you have someone onsite for the duration of the event with the appropriate food handling license. In an effort to make this a successful event for everyone, we attempt to limit the duplication of food. Our goal is to have no more than 2 of the same food item sold. We approve food on a first come first serve basis.

4. Approved Methods for Collecting Money

There are special rules for both Clubs and Teams regarding the taking of money for goods, food and games. All other groups may use their preferred method of sales.

TEAMS ONLY:

If you plan to submit any money raised to your Booster's Fund, 501(c)(3) laws require that money is given directly to the Boosters Club and not consolidated by one person who then submits a check.

Checks: are made out to the AV Athletic Boosters with a momo of your sport in the corner.

Cash: is given to your team manager who will deliver it to the Booster's representative

Square: We have a new and improved option for Square that will go directly into your Booster's account. More to follow on this in the next 24 hours.

Venmo is NOT an option for teams at this time.

CLUBS ONLY:

Please work with Ms. Baldus for your cash box and funds. This is a Booster sponsored event but all clubs work under school and ASB guidelines. Deadline to submit the proper forms for clubs to Ms. Baldus is this Friday, September 1st. Once approved by the ASB and Ms Baldus, DO NOT forget to register your club with the Pigskin Committee through the link provided in section 3.

It takes many volunteers to help us pull off a successful Pigskin, so please take a look at the jobs we need to fill and take one or several of them to help create the best event.

We are also looking for committee leads to take over the planning of the event next year so if you are interested in that or any of the volunteer roles below, email amadorpigskin@gmail.com
